An existing deck structure is not a blank canvas, and you need to consider the color and stain of your deck. You also need to be aware of your siding color, and any stone or brickwork under and near the deck.

Let’s look at some examples of the great-looking color combinations with the gutter, siding, and deck wood.

1. Keeping it Clean

Here is a great example of keeping it clean and simple by matching white under-deck panels with the preexisting white trim and white deck posts, and a white seamless gutter is also used. This is one of the simplest and most effective ways to keep it simple and clean. In this case, going with a warm color, or a woodgrain would have looked garish against the cool blue of the house.

Above is another example of keeping it clean using white. As you can see, the posts and railing of this deck were preexisting white. By using white under-deck panels, this homeowner achieved a nice clean look.

2. Matching ‘like’ with ‘like’

An easy way to go is to match your under-deck panel color to your existing siding. In this case, the homeowner had a nice clay siding color, which was easy to match with our clay panels.

Here is a great example of matching the panel colors to the preexisting deck wood. In this case, the homeowner used our Medium Teak to match the color of this wood structure.

3. Going BOLD!

In some cases, opposites attract. In this case, the owner went with a Straight Grain Karri against the brilliant green and bright white trim:
